Marco: well I would have been scared to go onto Clacton pier at Hallowe’en. Whilst the terrifying Evil on Sea event was being prepared in the Jolly Roger building, there were strange voices in the dark and tools and equipment being moved without any explanation!
The Jolly Roger building, originally built in 1893, has a spooky history. According to Pier owner Billy Ball, there are stories about a lifeguard who used to work at the Pier’s former swimming pool returning to haunt it, as well as a lifeboatman coming across the water towards the Pier from a ship stuck on the sands.
Marco hopes those brave enough to go enjoyed the event!
